Coach Beth Baumer

Founder/Manager/Coach

Beth was born and raised in Ventura County, CA , where she attended Santa Clara elementary school, Saint Bonaventure High School and further up north, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has always been physically active, growing up playing soccer and other sports. She has participated in many triathlons, half marathons, one full marathon and the BP MS 150 bike ride in Texas.

Beth studied Spanish in Granada, Spain during college and maintains her bilingual skill. After earning her bachelor of science degree in Agricultural Business, she decided she wanted to perfect her Spanish and live abroad in South America. Luckily her boyfriend at the time (now husband) thought that was a great idea as well. They lived in Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina and traveled extensively around the continent.

She and her husband Ben, now live in Ventura and have been married since 2006. They have two children Donovan (2008) and Vivienne (2012) who are both active children. Ben is an attorney at Lowthorp Richards in Oxnard.

When Beth found out her father, Hank Laubacher, had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease around 2010, she was heartbroken. Fortunately, she remembered that her father is a fighter, an extremely positive minded and kind human being. Hank had seen a 60 minutes episode about how boxing can help improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson's Disease. He then did some research and found Neuroboxing located in Agoura Hills, just up the grade from his home in Oxnard. He started taking the classes and developed a very healthy new routine. The only thing was how far the drive was. He mentioned to his daughter Beth, we should start an affiliate Neuroboxing program in the Oxnard area.

Beth gravitated to the intense training and physical challenge that boxing provided. She started training in boxing in early 2019.In September 2021, she participated in an amateur masters boxing tournament in Las Vegas.

Going back to 2019, Beth enrolled in Neuroboxing affiliate training program. She studied and received her Program Director and Neuroboxing Coach Certificate. Neuroboxing Fight Camp had laid its roots down. In October 2019, Neuroboxing Fight Camp started offering classes at Fitzone Ventura. During covid lockdown, the program sustained itself with classes on zoom. Our program now runs now live in person in two locations in Ventura County, Fitzone in Ventura and Hiit Fitness in Camarillo.

Alicia "Al" Gore

Alicia "Al" Gore (No not that Al Gore!;) has worked in the fitness industry for almost 30 years. When she first started in the fitness industry, I was a nutrition major at Arizona State University. Al loved exercise so much, she changed her major and graduated with an exercise science bachelors with a concentration in wellness. After moving around the country from marrying her husband, who was in the Navy it afforded her the ability to work in multiple different types of fitness facilities: everything from corporate wellness, profit, nonprofit, small clubs, and larger clubs. She has always gravitated toward a more mature clientele through out her career. After settling in California for a few years, she went back to school and got her masters degree, Also in exercise science with a concentration in rehabilitation. After meeting John and Cathy Taketa, they told her about Neuroboxing, which is what led me to Beth and how she began working at Neuroboxing.
